About Us

Founded in 2022, Civic Future is non-party political and grounded in the values that uphold liberal democracy. We support highly talented young leaders to understand the moral, technological, and governance challenges of our time, build excellent organisations, and transform public life for the better.

The world is changing, fast. War and economic crisis have returned to Europe. Emerging technologies are transforming our lives and how we understand ourselves. Ageing populations and global migration are shifting demographics. History is back and yet, despite this tumult, domestic politics appears stuck. There is a sense everywhere that nothing is working as it should, that our leaders are not up to the task, and that permanent stagnation defines our era.

This stagnation is felt in our economy, characterised by low productivity and sluggish growth; in our culture, dominated by renunciation and conformity; and, above all, in our governance and statecraft. Lurching from crisis to crisis, concerned principally with managing the daily media cycle, we have lost both the ability to execute the basic functions of the state and the self-confidence to act for posterity.

Civic Future is necessary because we need better ideas and better people in public life, who hold fast to liberal political ideals, reject declinism in our politics and our culture, and want to navigate a way out of stagnation.
