Economics for Government: Foundation
This one-day training course will introduce you to the UK’s economy and economic policy, in theory and practice. It aims to enhance your foundational knowledge and understanding, to enhance your policymaking impact now and in the future.
Applying Economics in Policymaking
This one-day training course will deepen your understanding and use of economics in tackling real and complex policy challenges facing any government.
Each 1-day course is in-person only, held at our Public Hall office in SW1. Led by a former Whitehall Chief Economist you will be guided through economic theory and policy, and discuss how UK Governments raise and spend money, tailored to your existing knowledge. Places are limited, to ensure quality. Both courses suit political candidates of any Party, civil servants, and those interested in public appointments or career-switches into government.
“Intellectually and personally enriching – I would highly recommend this course to anyone interested not just in working in government, but in government working better.”
“The Civic Future Economics for Government course was incredibly valuable. We were fortunate to have a host of economists who skilfully simplified and contextualised the subject. It was also great to meet a range of future colleagues across the political spectrum.”
“I feel much more confident now that I’ve got the basics covered on how the UK works economically.”
